Mrs. Van Voris was born in Denver, Co. on July 11, 1919, a daughter of Jean Hooper Wigton and Paul L. Wigton. She graduated from the University of Colorado in 1941, where she was active in vocal (choral) groups and in sorority and student affairs.

Mrs. Van Voris was a resident of Pleasant Point Plantation and a member of the Dataw Island Club and the Country Club of Beaufort. Surviving are her husband Fil Van Vorls of Beaufort, a brother Leonard H. Wigton of Cape Court House, N.J., two sons; Lee P. Van Voris of Erie.
