KRUMAN OD, age 55, of Canton, passed away Saturday night, March 1, 1997 in the comfort of his home. He was born in Cleveland on May 8, 1941 to David and Anne (Kossoff) Kruman. A graduate of Shaker Heights High, he received a B.S. in Pharmacy from the University of Toledo, and his Doctor of Optometry from Ohio State University. A resident of Canton since 1970, Dr.

Kruman had Optometry offices In Belden Village and Canal Fulton. Past President of both the Canton Society and the area zone Ohio Optometric Assoc. A member of Temple Israel, he served on the Board since 1992 and had Chaired the fundraising committee for three years. A past Board member of Temple Israel Brotherhood, he was past Program Membership Chairman. Former Director and President of the Rotary Club of Jackson he was the only active charter member and had chaired most major committees, helping the community by raising funds for the library.

He was chosen Outstanding Rotarian of the Year 1976-77 and again 1986-87. A past Prestdent and Board Member of Jackson Belden Chamber of Commerce, he was awarded the Jackson Township Citizen Award in 1992. Past Board Member and Chairman of the Arthritis Foundation, Canton Branch Office, he recelved the National Volunteer Service C1- tation in 1989. Howard had also served our community in numerous other ways: Past Board of Trustees of Canton Ballet; chaired Optometry donations for United Way; Committees for Jackson Local Schools. Preceded in death by a sister Phyllis Kruman in 1958 and his father David Kruman in 1972.

Survived by wife Christine, daughters; Laurle and Amy; both of Cleveland, mother Anne Kruman of Beach. wood, sister and brotherin-law; Susan and Jeffrey Wilson, niece and nephew; Erin and Steven Wilson; all of Rancho Mirage, law; Richard and Helen Monasterlo of Canton, brother-in-law Richard (and Sarah) Monasterio, and niece and nephew; Katle and Matt; all of Akron.
